CHILDHOOD & PAST-LIFE
CHILDHOOD
The concept of “healing the inner child” may have become somewhat cliché, but it is a real thing and I am the living proof. Of all the modalities I have worked with in my search for personal healing, this is the one that has proven most potent in depth and scope.
The technique I use is called Applied Meditation, a modality developed by Margo Adair – best known for her book Working Inside Out. It weaves intuition, creative visualization, and mindfulness to reach the inner child and listen to what is needed in order to release patters and beliefs inherited from early life circumstances. It is akin to telling a soldier still hiding in a bunker that the “war is over”.
I spent two years working with this modality in my mid to late 20s. The first year and a half were spent working on my issues at the rhythm of biweekly sessions. and the last six were spent learning how to work with this modality. Many years later, I connected with Margo Adair on Facebook and she agreed to do a phone interview with me. She spent the better part of an hour “grilling” me on the technique – very kindly and with lots of humour, I might add. I was deeply honoured to have this connection with her before she passed and even more when she gave me her blessing to officially use the term Applied Meditation.
The process itself is similar to other hypnotherapy methods; it is the specific elements of the inner landscape we explore as well as those we can invoke as allies that make it unique. The process is quite simple: we start by identifying “a window” through which we can focus the session – what issue or memory needs attention – and I guide you through an interactive journey into your body and your inner world to open a dialogue with your younger self using its language – creative imagination. Focus is set on transmuting, release, integration, balance, and grounding the work in your outer reality.
Here are some of the “windows” that led to some of my greatest breakthroughs:
– Where in my body lives the part of me that loses all self-confidence when I am around people I “like”.
– Where in my body lives the part of me that believes everything my mother said about me.
– Where in my body lives the part of me that is afraid of being loved.

PAST-LIFE
lt was soon after I started working with Applied Meditation that I received my first past-life regression. I right away saw the parallels in the techniques. A slight change in the landscape we visit allows us to explore issues that don’t seem connected to the current lifetime – we simply go down a different path to explore events stored in our soul memory. These can also yield precious gifts beyond releasing trauma when exploring a specific culture or era that we have always been drawn to. It can even help us reclaim forgotten talents and gifts!
